Cammy was born on July 18, 1947, to Sara and Earl “Price” Steiding in Frostburg, Maryland. She grew up with her four sisters, Celeste Hrifko, Sally McCalla, Marion “Dixie” Chappell, and Deann “Deannie” Laughlin, and her brother, Earl “Sparky” Steiding, before moving to California at the age of 14. She met Barry Wilson at Canoga High School, and together they built a family over the next 59 years.
A devoted mother to her children, Jennifer and Mark, Cammy instilled in them strong values that guided their lives. Before she was married, she began her career working in the computer center in Van Nuys. As her children became more independent, Cammy returned to work in the church school office at Bethel Christian Academy before resuming her career in banking with Security Pacific, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Antelope Valley Bank. As a merchant bank teller, she was known for her warmth, kindness, and dry sense of humor. Customers often waited for her to be available because of the personal attention she gave and the way she connected with them.
Cammy was also a loving wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who made others feel valued and appreciated. She held strong values and beliefs and spoke with honesty and conviction, always grounded in how deeply she cared. Her faith in God was an important part of her life and something she felt deeply. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special moment and had a way of marking them with thoughtful gifts that meant a great deal to the people who received them.
Cammy was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Mark Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Barry Wilson; her daughter, Jennifer Rivera; her granddaughter, Amber Wilson; and a large extended family.
Cammy is greatly missed for the love she gave, her caring nature, and the lasting impact she had on those who knew her. Her memory will stay with all who knew her, leaving a space in our hearts that cannot be filled.
The Celebration of Life to honor the life of Cammy Wilson will be held on May 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Washington Heights Church, 1770 E. 6200 S., Ogden, Utah 84405. A reception will follow in the church’s reception room.
