Anthony is survived by his wife Debbie; five sons Michael (Sara) of South Jordan, UT; Christian (Sara) of Fayetteville, GA; Benjamin (Malynda) of American Fork, UT; Jonathan (Lorna) of Woodbridge, VA; and Andrew (Brittney) of Lehi, UT,; son-in-law Fred Williams (Sam) of Austin, TX; and 23 grandchildren.
Anthony was born on May 17, 1946 in Brevard, North Carolina. Anthony joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1962 and was the first member in his family. He graduated from Brevard High School in 1965 and attended BYU were he graduated with a B.S. in Political Science in 1971. He was called to serve as a full-time missionary in the Central British Mission from 1966-1968.
While at BYU he met his sweetheart, Debra Jean Clawson from Burley, Idaho and they were married on April 3, 1970 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Anthony joined the Army ROTC while at BYU and served for two years (1971-1973) as a First Lieutenant in the Signal Corps following his graduation. Most of Anthony’s military service took place at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. After an honorable discharge, Anthony and Debbie moved to California where Anthony attended Law School and passed the California State Bar in 1976. He practiced law for 25 years.
For the past 17 years Anthony and Debbie lived in Utah. Anthony served as a Judge in Highland, Utah from 2004-2007. Anthony’s true love was teaching and he cherished his time serving as an Adjunct Professor at Utah Valley University from 2005-2015. Anthony loved being with family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Anthony enjoyed many pass times like reading books and going to the movies but his favorite was being in the kitchen cooking something delicious. One of his favorite days of the year was Christmas Eve, knowing he’d be in the kitchen cooking and baking most of the day.
Anthony was preceded in death by Joseph Alvin Terry (father), Delphia Davidson (mother), Helen Marie Davidson (sister), Richard Dean Terry (brother), Jimmy LeVern Terry (brother), Joseph Wesley Terry (brother), Nancy Carol Terry (sister), Daniel Wesley Terry (son), and Caroline Terry Williams (daughter).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 381 S 300 E American Fork, UT 84003.
