Thomas E Ackman

January 23, 1942 – February 9, 2025

Thomas Edward Ackman, 83, of Fox Lake, IL passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 9, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amelia and Lew Ackman, and his beloved fur babies Heidi, Bogie, and Tinkerbell.

Thomas is survived by his daughter, Dana (Nate) Coon; his brother, Paul (Cindy) Ackman; and his cherished grandchildren.

Tom’s work life was marked by dedication and service. He worked at Intermatic for 27 years before retiring, and also ran his own successful lawn maintenance company for over 30 years. His strong work ethic and passion for helping others were evident in all he did.

In his free time, Tom was an avid fisherman and a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs. He made it a point to attend as many opening games as possible, showcasing his love for both the sport and the camaraderie of the fans.

A proud member of the American Legion for many years, Tom enjoyed participating in their events and felt honored to serve his country as a paramedic during his two years in the Army.

Tom will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be set at a later date.
