On November 22, 1954, Suzanne married Robert W. Rieth in Sacramento, California. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2019. Together, they shared a life grounded in commitment and family and were married for 64 years and 11 months.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert Mooney Bailey and Virginia Ruth Schalicke Rice Bailey and brother, Herbert Bailey, Jr.
Suzanne will be remembered for the steady wisdom she carried throughout her life, the thoughtful care she extended to others, and the devoted way she cherished those closest to her. Suzanne found joy in golfing, reading, dancing and socializing and she especially treasured time spent with her family. She also valued community and connection, including her involvement with Gateway Country Club while living in Fort Myers, Florida and she became a fantastic golfer.
Suzanne is survived by her children: Michael Rieth of Farmington Hills, Michigan; Douglas Rieth (Gloria) of Aurora, Illinois; Leslie Reynolds (Mark, deceased) of Noblesville, Indiana; and Tricia Schultz (Ralph) of Elgin, Illinois; grandchildren: Anthony Rieth, Brent Rieth (Laura), Megan Berthoud (John Marc), Timothy Reynolds (Kait Heimann), and Joseph Reynolds and great-grandchildren: Eloise and James Rieth; RaeAnn and Jensen Rieth; Easton and Brooks Reynolds.
Carol Bailey, sister-in-law and her children; Charles Bailey (Julie), Greg Bailey (Amy), Alissa Dunnett (Matt) and great nieces and nephews; Charlie and Grace Bailey, Olivia and Casey Bailey and Ryan & Rehn Dunnett.
Our mom was a great blessing to many and did her best to love everyone well = )
The family of Suzanne invites relatives and friends to join them in celebrating a life well lived on Saturday, August 8, 2026. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Parish, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles, Illinois. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m.
Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Village Squire, 480 S. Randall Road, South Elgin, Illinois.
