Sue Ann Grenning

Sue Ann Grenning, 89, of Lake Barrington, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born July 29, 1927 in East St. Louis, IL, daughter of the late Enid (Spillman) Smith.

Sue was a resident of Mt. Prospect for 59 years of her life. She worked as an executive secretary but will be remembered most as a server and helper, a lover of nature and for her Christmas cookies that would surely put a smile on the face of anyone that had the opportunity to try them. She had a passion and knack for gardening and was happiest when spending time with her children.

She will be truly missed!

Survived by her children, Gail Ferber, Michael (Kathryn) Grenning, Mark Grenning, Matt (Janice) Grenning, Julie Keddington; daughter-in-law, Renee Breiling; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents; son, Stephen Grenning, and brother, David B. Smith.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Glaucoma Research Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, or to Journey Care Hospice.
