He grew up in Bensenville, IL and lived most of his life there. He joined the U.S. Army and served as a Radio Operator for three years this is where he met and married Myrna J. Pollard in 1962. They returned home to Illinois and Ron started working in his father’s Barber Shop. The Luethy’s Barber Shop was open for 63 years with Ron as a barber 48 of those years. They had two children, Ronnie and Dyanne. Ron loved to hunt, fish, golf and had the Gift of Gab. He was a member and former president of the Lions Club.
Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Myrna, his parents John and Marguerite Luethy, his brother-in-law Marty Durkin, and his daughter Ronnie Luethy.
He is survived by his sister Susan Durkin, his daughter Dyanne Fearn, his grandson James Luethy, granddaughter, Megan (Ben) Meyer and his six great grandchildren, Leira, Dennin, Liam, Ollivander, and twins Spencer and Aherlow Meyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
There will be a memorial service open house at the family home in Poplar Grove on Saturday the 13th of January 2024 from 12:00- 5:00 p.m. If you would like to attend, you may call Dyanne Fearn at 217-848-0846 for directions. Coffee and sandwiches will be served.
