Roger George Clark

Roger George Clark, age 86 of Rockton, IL, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Fair Oaks Health Care Center. Roger was born in 1938, the son of Mareen and Almeda (Billerbeck) Clark. He married his college sweetheart Loretta Wilson and they recently celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Roger’s life was well lived in faithful service with Christ, his family and community. He was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church, Loves Park, IL. He loved and supported his family through his wit and wisdom, lake adventures and steady consistent humble leadership. He served 26 years with the City of Rockford Police Department and retired as a detective. His second career was Chief of Security at Lake Summerset and later in retirement a school bus driver.

In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by his children; Lynn (Derek) Horkan, Tom (Mindy) Clark, Patti Clark (Andy Golz); grandchildren Megan (Jacob) Genens, Kirsten (Tyler) Peterson, Autumn Clark, Keegan Clark (Lexi Kashi); great-grandchildren Lincoln and Lacey Genens and Baby Peterson; brother Terry (Linda) Clark; niece Deana (Bill) Watry and family; nephew Steven Strait and family.

Visitation begins at 9:00 am, Friday, October 18, 2024, with a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am, Grace Lutheran Church, 343 Grand Ave, Loves Park, IL. Join the family for a luncheon following the service at the church. The burial is at a later date. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
