Born in Chicago Heights to his parents who immigrated from Calabria, Italy, Robert “Bob” Nardella was the baby of 5 siblings - Rose, Angelo, Carmella and Joanne.
He was a lifelong resident of Chicago Heights and graduated from Saint Agnes Grade School, Bloom High School and Northern Illinois University with a degree in Business. After serving in the Army he then completed his Masters Degree at the University of Illinois in Champaign.
Robert was first married to Faith (O’Brien) and together they had 2 children, David Nardella and Lori (Tim) Casey and grandchildren Nathan & Trevor Casey and Dominic, Gianna & David (DJ) Nardella
His lifelong passion was being an educator and Mr. Nardella was a very well-respected High School Business teacher for over 33 years. He started his teaching career at Bloom High School and then shortly after, when the building was completed, moved to Bloom Trail High School in Steger, IL. It was there that he taught thousands of students the importance of not only saving but investing for the future!
Later in life he found “his person”, his wife of over 30 years, Patricia and her 3 children: John, Deb (Todd), Beth.
Together they enjoyed the garden club, making homemade pasta, homemade ice cream, frequenting estate sales to find one-of-a-kind treasures, Cousins coffee gatherings and Sunday visits with family.
His favorite hobby, by far, was making homemade wine with his son, Dave who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2017.
He leaves behind a legacy of life-lessons that will never be forgotten!
A private gathering for family & friends who are considered family will be on September 22, 2024.
