Robert Ben Macek

Beloved husband to Jean (nee Maier) for over 33 years. Devoted father to Amy (Nathan) Oldham and Julie (Jacob) Bonnan. Loving grandfather to Gunnar, Lily and Brinley. Brother to Diane and Mark Macek. Dear son of the late Robert and Joan Macek.

Robert received his masters in elementary education and his bachelors in business from National Louis University. He joined the Chicago Fire Department as a paramedic, went on to serve as a firefighter, and retired as a lieutenant paramedic after 29 years. Known for his strong work ethic and intellect, Robert also loved to travel and was never afraid to try new things. An experienced adventurer of both land and sea, Robert was licensed for scuba diving and piloting for both planes and helicopters. He was also a member of the Professional Association for Diving Instructors (PADI).

A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date.
