Rita Ann Sadowski

Rita Sadowski passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 91. She would have celebrated her 92nd birthday on September 15.

Rita will be remembered for her joyful spirit, warm heart, wonderful sense of humor, and, above all, her deep love for her family. She had a special ability to bring happiness and laughter to those around her, and her presence made family gatherings and everyday

moments brighter.

Rita is preceded in death by her life partner Robert Welsh and survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Peter) Jaffe, her son-in-law, Joseph Tyranowski, husband of her late daughter, Janet, and Nancy Carpenter.

She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: John, his late wife Jennifer and his partner Misty; Jeff; Katelyn (husband, Mark); Angela (husband, Sam); Dominique (husband, James); Richard, along with her step-grandson Jonah and Ben, and as well as her 10 great-grandchildren.

She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.

A Celebration of Life for Rita will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Friendship United Methodist Church, 305 E. Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m.

Service: 11:00 a.m.

Luncheon: A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that live plants be sent to the church for use during the service. Following the service, family members or attendees will take the plants home as living memorials to Rita, allowing her memory and the love she shared to continue to grow.
