Richard E. Ohman

Richard was the beloved husband of Gloria Ohman, née Kramp for over 70 years; loving father of Suzanne (Gus) Grimes and Dale (Robin) Ohman; dear grandfather of Andrew, Daniel (Genna), Bradley (Amanda), Jillian (Ryne), and Thomas (Chelsey); great-grandfather, “super-grandpa,” of Rudy, Dalyn, Harper, Cole, Emersyn, Eloise, and Gennie; cherished brother of the late Jeanette Johnson.

Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He had a fulfilling career in the food industry, starting out as a butcher and then moving into sales, a position he held until retirement. Richard will be fondly remembered as a family-man who loved spending time dancing and traveling with his wife, watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow, and making many lasting friendships throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening in his free time. Richard loved life and was often seen with a smile.

If we could write a story, it would be the greatest story told, of a kind, gentle, loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa who had a heart of gold. We could write a million pages but, one thing we would say, thanks for always being our superhero!

Memorial Visitation Saturday, April 26th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service, 11:30 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church—1624 E. Euclid Avenue; Mt. Prospect, IL 60056. Interment Private.
