Phyllis Ann Goldenstern passed away peacefully, September 8, 2024, with family by her side. Phyllis was born in Joliet, Il. on September 13, 1934, to the late George & Josephine (Stolfo) Green. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Ronald, children Sally (Tim) Leoni, and Grant (Stacia Sackmaster) Goldenstern, grandchildren Paige, Cole, James & Hazel, great grandchildren Jesse & Lyla, and nieces & nephews Lynn, Jay & Jeff. Phyllis was proceeded in death by her newborn son Gary & sibling Marilyn (Jim) Boyle. Phyllis was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, in-law and friend. She was lucky enough to celebrate her 69th wedding anniversary on September 3rd and was just five days shy of making it to her 90th birthday. She was known to all who had the pleasure of meeting her as the sweetest, most mild mannered, classy, generous & “always smiling” human being on the planet, always dressed to the nines and looking at the bright side in every situation. Phyllis was a fabulous homemaker/stay at home mom, great entertainer, talented decorator and all-around fun person to be around. Her positive outlook, and happiness was one of a kind. Her journey of six long years progressing from memory care to skilled nursing has been a long road. The suffering has ended, with loved ones surrounding her at home in peace. We are all grateful for the wonderful life she lived and compassionate care throughout her last years. She will surely be missed by all that loved her.
Visitation will be held Monday September 16th, 2024, from 9:30 until the time of mass at 10:30 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 135 S. Buesching Rd. Lake Zurich, Il.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association in Phyllis’s name.
