Philip Vella Jr “Philly” died peacefully at home on June 5 in Des Plaines, IL at the age of 72; beloved husband of Catherine nee Palese; loving father of Philip Allen, preceded in death by daughter Dawn and granddaughter Nicole; grandfather of Ryan & Mia Bella; dear brother of Dorothy Heller; fond uncle of Julie, Dale, Kennedy, Cathy, Mike, Cole and Molly; loving father figure and long time devoted friend to many. An Army Veteran, skilled tradesman who was passionate about fishing, working, loving and laughing. Phil will be missed by all who loved him.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, at St Jeromes Church, 1709 W. Lunt Avenue, 10am visitation followed by mass at 11am. All are welcome to attend.
