Patricia Ann Osborn, née Cheek, of Grayslake, IL (formerly of Des Plaines, IL) Age 83 Born August 21, 1934 Passed away on October 11, 2017 While growing up in Chicago, Pat was a track and field star at Lakeview High School where she collected many medals. She moved to Des Plaines in 1957 and lived on Vassar Lane for 43 years where she raised her three children Bob, Pam and Gwen. She spent many years working at Sigwalt Lumbar Yard with her husband Ray, and was very involved with the choir and women's group at Christ Church. After Ray's passing, Pat worked at Cummins Allison where she met and married Peter Osborn and eventually moved to Saddlebrook Farms in Grayslake where they have remained. During her Cummins years Pat found another outlet for her considerable athletic abilities when she joined the golf and bowling leagues where she won countless trophies over the years. While in Grayslake, Pat also played bocce, worked as a bus assistant and found a new passion in ceramics. She made friends everywhere she went and belonged to a variety of organizations at Saddlebrook. Pat and Pete loved to travel and enjoyed such adventures as England, Scotland, Ireland and Alaska, and meandered down more backroads through the U.S. than most people would ever dream of. After facing unbelievable health challenges over the last twenty one years of her life, Pat proved to be one of the most courageous and resilient people you could ever hope to meet. She confronted her illness with bright optimism and inspired everyone who knew her. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Fred and June Alice Cheek (McConkey) and her late husband Raymond Sigwalt. She leaves behind her husband Pete Osborn, sisters JoAnne Lente and June Nothdorft and her many children: Pam (Marco) Valenziano, Bob Mahnke, Gwen Hogaboom, Nick (Michelle) Osborn, Francine (Osborn) Mandel and Connie, Sandra and Linda Osborn. She also leaves behind many grandchildren: Miles,Taryn, Brystel, Jacob, Stephanie, Samantha, Nikki, Allie, Jessica, Adam, Benjamin and Leah. And great grandchildren: Vanessa, Layla, Damien, Penelope, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Rhylee, Amarie, Averly and Kaspar. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 28th at Ivanhoe Congregational Church, 21078 W. Rt. 176 in Mundelein, IL 60060 Visitation will start at 9am followed by a service at 11am. Donations to American Cancer Society or St Jude Children's Research Center are welcome and appreciated.
