Nancy was born August 25, 1937 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Richard and Margaret Seahawk.
Nancy graduated from Southfield High School in 1955 and then went to Hurley School of Nursing, earning a RN degree in 1958. At the time she entered nursing school the Head of the school told everyone that only half of the entering class would actually finish and graduate as a nurse and this turned out to be true! Nancy was an excellent nurse - quickly winning the praise and admiration of her fellow nurses and doctors. She practiced nursing throughout her career in Flint, MI at Hurley Medical Center and Wheelock Memorial Hospital.

Paul and Nancy had three children: Anne, Paul, and Michelle; three grandchildren: Emily, Rachel, and Sarah; and one great-grandchild, Sloane. Nancy was a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. She always sung the praises of her children and supported them in their endeavors in life. She was actively involved with her grandchildren and a much-beloved tradition of Sunday family meals brought the family closer together.
Nancy was very involved in her community while living in Flint, MI as a tireless volunteer at schools, (St. Pius X and Powers Catholic High School), garden societies, and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Genesee County Medical Society in Flint, MI.
Nancy was always interested in music and supporting the performing arts. She encouraged Michelle to pursue piano and spent countless hours at music lessons and music recitals. Nancy also worked as a volunteer to support events at the Flint Institute of Music - including the William C. Byrd Young Artist competition. For many years she coordinated the housing of the competitors and had a special knack for pairing up contestants with family hosts.
Nancy was a master gardener and was always beautifying her home and her community with flowers and plants. She spent hours tending community gardens and visiting historic gardens during her travels.
Nancy had a long battle with Alzheimer’s, which was difficult for her and her entire family. However, Nancy never lost her wonderful kindness in how she treated others and her family.
