Mary Jane Maxwell, “Mare” of Bartlett, IL ended her third battle with lung cancer on October 1st just short of her 83rd birthday. She was born in Chicago where she lived with her parents and six siblings until she married her husband of 62 years, Ronald Maxwell. They had six children of their own: Dawn (Scott), Ronnie (Lesky), Danny (Anne), Kevin (Karen), Timmy, and Mickey (Gavin).
Mare was as sweet and sensitive as she was crass, brassy and funny. She put the relationships of her family and friends above everything in her life. She was one of the most loving and loyal people. She taught not only with her words, but by example, forgave quickly and her positive influence, giving spirit and the effect she had on her family, including her 11 grandchildren, her brand new great grandchild, and her friends will last for generations to come.
She is preceded in death by her Father (Bill), her mother (Winnie), her sister (Winnie) and many dear family members and friends.
The family would like to thank Sherri Bretzman for her altruistic care during Mare’s final weeks in hospice.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass/Celebration of life at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 1223 W Holtz Ave, Addison, IL 60101 on Friday, October 22, at 11:00am.
Although Mare loved flowers, she would’ve preferred that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Pat Mac’s Pack supporting pediatric brain tumor research: https://patmacspack.org/
