Martin F. Pegarsch, aged 62, passed away on September 18, 2024, in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Born on December 24, 1961, Marty, as he was affectionately known, was a cherished figure among his family and friends, known for his dedication and love.
Marty grew up in the local area, graduating from Jacobs High School in 1980. He spent most of his career in the auto parts industry, where he excelled in various roles including salesperson, store manager, and district manager. His work was not just a job but a passion, driven by his love for cars and motorcycles. Marty's enthusiasm for vehicles wasn't just professional; he was an avid enthusiast personally. He set himself the ambitious goal of riding his motorcycle in all 50 states, accomplishing more than half by his last count. His prized possession, a '69 Camaro, was well-known among his peers during his younger days.
Marty is survived by his spouse, Billie Pegarsch of Huntley, IL; sons, Nicholas Pegarsch of Lakemoor, IL, Michael Pegarsch of Crystal, IL, Daniel Pegarsch of Woodstock, IL; and daughter, Melanie Pegarsch of Schaumburg, IL. Step Son Kenneth Rhodes of Indianapolis, IN He also leaves behind his sister, Lorretta Quinlan of Gallatin, TN, and brother, Marvin Pegarsch of Peotone, IL, along with five grandchildren, Madden, Ailynn, and Charlie Jean Pegarsch, Elijiah and Peyton Rhodes and several nieces and nephews. Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Marvin Pegarsch, and his sister, Linda Lakota.
While there will be no memorial service, a celebration of life for Marty will be October 19th at Nicks Pizza in Crystal Lake Illinois, from 1:00- 5:00 PM honoring a man who was not only dedicated to his family and friends but also shared a deep bond with the community through his passions.
Marty's life was a testament to the power of dedication, whether to family, friends, or his lifelong interests. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, and friend whose legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
