Lillian R Leber

Lillian Rose, nee Taylor was born November 15, 1926 in Oakland, CA. She was the daughter of William and Leona Taylor. Lillian was educated in California, Illinois, and Iowa, graduating in 1944 in Mystic, IA.

Lillian married William G. Leber in Rockford, IL in 1947. They were married for 52 years. She was predeceased by her husband in July of 1999.

Lillian worked in the educational field for many years, both in Rockford, IL and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She and her husband retired to FT. Lauderdale, FL where they became avid golfers at their retirement community of Pine Island Ridge. Family and friends enjoyed many wonderful visits with them in Florida. Lillian moved back to Rockford, IL in 2002 and became very involved with Third Presbyterian Church and the many Women’s Association activities. She was a strong willed, determined woman who loved and cherished her three children, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank St. Anne Place and ProMedica Hospice for their care.

Lillian is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Suzanne (Roger) Ruha and Kristine (Steven) Bennett; son, William (Julie) Leber; grandchildren: Todd (Tara) Cagnoni, Tobin (Maureen) Cagnoni, Steven Bennett, Richard (Heather) Bennett, William (Brandi) Leber, and Joseph (Kassandra) Leber; and great-grandchildren: David and Linnea Cagnoni, Lathan Bennett, William and Spencer Leber, and Myles Leber. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, David Cagnoni; and great-grandchild, Tyler Bennett.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 10:00 am until time of memorial service 10:30 am at Third Presbyterian Church, 1221 Custer Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103.
