Lee was born on October 18, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had loving parents, Betty & Ben Moskowitz. She grew up in South Philly and later married David Siegel and moved to Chicago. Lee raised three beautiful children, and sadly lost her first-born child, Mitchell, as an infant.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Lee was the heart of her family. She was known for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for those around her. Her generosity shines through, where she used her hard-earned savings to treat her family to numerous travel destinations, which has given the family a lifetime of memories. Lee had a strong work ethic and worked until the young age of 83 years old. Her love for animals and desire to give back had her volunteering at Heartland Animal Shelter.
Lee was a die-hard sports fan. Her love of Chicago and Philadelphia teams was one of her fun pastimes. She enjoyed some of her last hours cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles to win the Super Bowl.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Elise) Siegel, Missy (Rob) Finn, and Caryn Chattin; grandchildren Evan(Melissa), Brooke, Jessica, Maddy and Caylie; brother/sister-in laws Anne (Howard) Michael and Diane Moskowitz, as well as all of her nieces, nephews and many friends who will miss her dearly. She is reunited in heaven with her parents and siblings, Jack (Ruth) Moskowitz and Chuck Moskowitz.
A funeral service will be held on February 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mausoleum of Shalom Memorial Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL. The family welcomes friends and family for Shiva at Continental Restaurant in Buffalo Grove, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heartland Animal Shelter (https://www.heartlandanimalshelter.org/donate) and Lungevity (Home | LUNGevity Foundation).
Lee’s kind spirit and loving heart will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us, her love will remain in our hearts forever.
