Glen Allen Bonfante of Mundelein, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5th after a very long battle with COPD at the age of 75. He was born on October 14, 1948 in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Samuel and Ethel Bonfante.
He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1966, served in the U.S. Air Force, and earned his degree from SUNY Albany. After working in sales and marketing in the corporate world, he finally found his calling as a juvenile probation officer working both in New York and Florida where he used his position to tirelessly help, support, and enrich the lives of countless at-risk young adults and their families in any way that he could.
Glen was a loving and incredibly supportive father and grandfather. He loved anything related to science fiction, reading, history, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Brian, of Mundelein, IL; granddaughter Paige, grandson Jack; sisters, Carol Carlson(Jeffrey) of Rock Hill, SC and Patricia LaMancuso of Jamestown, NY.
The family would like to thank the entire team at LifeChoice Hospice and Palliative Care of Wheeling, IL, as well as the nursing staff at Elevate Care Riverwoods for their wonderful care, compassion, and patience they showed our loved one in his final days.
In keeping with Glen’s wishes a private memorial service will be held with close family.
