Beverly Ann Schultz Stevens, a Lake Forest resident for over 65 years, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2019. Born June 8, 1928 in Austin MN. the youngest daughter of Roy and Olive Ellingson Schultz, she will be greeted in heaven by her parents, brothers Darrel and Dale, sister LaVonne and her husband of 62 years, John O Stevens.
Beverly was dedicated to her family, celebrating every holiday and event with love and ice cream. She is survived by her 5 children, Peg Stevens Hendershot, Scott Stevens (Chris, d), Mike Stevens, Lyn Stevens Drathring (Curt), and Ole Stevens, (Sonya) and grandchildren Karl, Scott, Ian, (Jillian) and Brian,(Aimee), Paul,(Tara), David, Kelly(Anthony), Michelle,(James), Ellyn,(Thomas) Anna,(Nick), Justin and Sean and great grandchildren Evan, Connor, William, Jake, Parker, Madi, Abby, Emmy, and many nieces and nephews.
Bev was a competitor and sports fan her whole life. Whether it was playing basketball in high school, sledding down the old Lake Forest beach road in the winter, playing women's volleyball at the recreation center, bridge with her lifelong friends or traveling the country in retirement golfing, she liked to have fun and to win. As a young mom she volunteered at Lake Forest Hospital and was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest. She worked as a secretary at Ferry Hall School and later as the Secretary to the Athletic Director at Lake Forest High School for 18 years until her retirement in 1993. She was an avid fan of Scouts athletics. She was a happy member of the Crystal Pointe community where she lived an independent life in her later years. She will be greatly missed. Services will be private.
