Barbara Gillis Mann

Barbara will be forever missed and loved by her children: Tracy (Scott) Kreger, Renee and Christopher and her grandchildren: Claire, Alex, Devan (Desiree), Elise, Sean, Savitri and Ivan who will lovingly remember their proud grandmother “Baba”. Barbara is further survived by her sister-in-law, Ingrid: nieces and nephew Catherine (Orjan) Odelbo, Steven and Carrie Gillis, her brother, Richard, extended family in Canada and the United States, many dear friends and her beloved four-legged companions.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents Cyril F. and Jeanne A. Gillis and her cherished dogs, Rambo, Pixie and Nikki. Barb will be fondly remembered as a strong, independent woman who worked hard and sacrificed for her children.

In her later years, Barbara enjoyed the solitude of her home in the company of a good book and her furry friends. She remained devoted to her family, preferring to live simply while giving generously to others.

Memorial donations in Barbara’s honor can be made to: The Humane Society of the United States and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

A private scattering of her cremated remains will be held, followed by a celebration of life at a time and place to be determined.
