Barbara Hoffman

Barbara Smith Hoffman, 89, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023.

She was born on March 26, 1934 in Chicago to the late Andrew & Violet Smith (nee Young). Barb lived most of her life in Chicago, where she grew up. She also enjoyed wonderful years living in Pittsburgh and San Francisco before ultimately returning to Chicago. Barb was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Sidney Hoffman.

She was beloved by her family: cousins Phyllis (George) Wittenberg, the late Janet Marshall, Cindy (Andy) Lieb, Jodie (Joe) Marshall-Salazar, Jack, Ryan & Brandon Lieb and Jordyn Salazar.

She was adored by her stepchildren and their children: Terri (Billy) Dravillas, Julie Ficke & Jeffrey Hoffman, Courtney & Kara Hoffman, Zachary & Rebecca Ficke and Alexandria Dravillas.

Barb treasured her friendships and several of her closest friends were like family to her. The amazing friendships she made while working 40+ years as Art Curator at Playboy Enterprises continued in these nearly two decades since her retirement.

She will missed by all who knew and loved her; plans will be made for a memorial gathering at a later date.
