Anastasia A. Orozco of Palatine, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, September 7 at 1:55 pm at the age of 95. Anastasia was born on July 11, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois. Tessie, as she was known to most, grew up in Greece but moved to the United States when she was 13 years old.
Prior to moving back to Illinois and residing at Aperion Care in Plum Grove, she lived in Florida for many years. She went on road trips and numerous cruises to the Caribbean. She always loved to travel and could talk your ear off if it was a road trip.
Tessie was an amazing wife, mother, sister and friend to all. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone. She loved talking and meeting people. Anyone who’s life she touched always had one thing to say about her, and that was she was the kindest woman they ever met and just loved her.
Tessie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Charles A. Orozco, her parents, Fotis and Maria Analitis, son Michael Orozco, and sister Chris Smith along with many cousins whom she grew up with. Tessie is survived by a younger sister, Ann Vambreck, and Tessie’s 4 children, Chuck Orozco, Frank Orozco, Maria Bailey, and Steve Orozco, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Aperion Care Plum Grove in Palatine, Illinois for the care and compassion they showed our mother over the last 9 years as a resident and especially during the last 3 weeks of her life. They made Tessie feel at home from the beginning and treated her like their mother or grandmother.
We would also like to thank Sanctuary Hospice for their compassion and excellent care. They pampered her, loved her, and made her final days more comfortable.
