William Calvin Flippo

Bill was born on July 7, 1942 in Whitesboro, Texas to JC and Nellie Flippo.

He was joined later by a brother, Donald, and sister, Tiny Mary, which they had both preceded him in death along with his parents.

Bill is survived by his wife Betty; his sons, David and Alan; step-son, Danny; step-daughters, LaVonda and Donna; brother-in-law, Richard(Mary); also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In 1961, Bill joined the Air Force to serve his country and that is where he picked up his love of flying.

In 1964, after his military training, he joined the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, where he retired.

Bill had many things he like to do such as meet with friends, driving in the mountains looking at the scenery and of course checking out airplanes weather in the sky or on the ground.

Bill will surely be missed but not forgotten. He had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone that needed help.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will held at Fernley Free Methodist Church - 100 North West Street (by Wigwam) Fernley, NV on June 21, 2025 from 1:00-3:00pm.

Please come join in to the celebration to the life of a great person with some memories, some stories and to laughs Or just to say goodbye to a dear friend.

Bill is very loved and will greatly be missed.

Bill is being taken care of by the Neptune Society of Reno and Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon.
