I was very surprised to hear of Tim’s passing. I want to send my Condolences to you, his family & closest friend's . I got to meet & get to know Tim as we were starting our career’s working @ the Vacaville  State Prison while working the “Toughest Beat in the State”. We were young & fearless, just trying to make it through the shifts & go home safe. A Great person to work with & what a great personality & what a great laugh he had. My prayers are sending your way & may God comfort you @ this time. Until we meet again!!

I was 19 or 20 when I first met Tim at California State University, Sacramento. He instantly struck me as the cool guy from Sonora—the guy everyone wanted to be around. When I later learned he had spent part of his childhood in Santa Barbara, it only added to his “cool” factor. I had always loved Sonora because of my family’s cabin in Pinecrest, so knowing someone from there made him even more interesting. He introduced me to the Sonora 4th of July parade & so many people and things about that area.
After I moved out of the dorms, Tim welcomed me as a roommate at the house on Rushden. It became the center of our friend group, with people like Tami, Julie, Christy, and Rob (our other roommate) always hanging out. Tim’s presence made that house a magnet for good times. 
I remember his “Billy Goat” VW, the endless push starts, and how he and his dad, Rodger, converted it from 6 volts to 12 volts so he could have brighter headlights to see better driving back to Sonora in the rain.  On a little side note here, Tim’s folks always treated me very well which explains a lot about Tim.
After I graduated and moved into my own apartment, I was always back at Rushden—drawn in by Tim’s effortless cool and kindness. He was very protective of his friends. I’ll never forget the time one of his newer roommates didn’t like me and actually hit me. Tim had had enough and kicked him out. That moment showed just how much he cared about me.
As the years passed, I moved away but always found a reason to visit him with Rob making up our original trio. We celebrated his kids being born, caught up on our careers, and always debated politics. When I told Tim I was gay, he simply said, “Duh. Of course, I know you’re gay.” Nothing changed—just like when he defended me all those years ago.
Our last conversation was just before his vacation in October and like always it was as if no time had passed. Tim, you are still with me in many ways. I will never forget my cool caring friend Tim Aylesworth.

I have known Tim since I was 16 years old.  We have been a constant in each others lives since that time. I have so many memories and I know they won’t all fit in this small space.  Going to Sac State in the mustang.  Hanging out with Rob, Dave, Julie, and Matt at the house on Rushden. Taking Tim to Tito’s tacos for the first time. Our obsession with perfecting our salsa recipe. Seeing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers twice.  Pushing his VW bug everywhere to bump start it.  Rehashing every episode of Game of Thrones.  Hours on the phone with Tim saying “one more thing and I’ll let you go.”  The time he picked me up at the airport and had a six pack of Jimboy’s tacos waiting for me.  When he picked all the crunch berries out of the Cap’n Crunch cause I said I didn’t like them.  Tim sharing the X rated memes Matt would send him on holidays.  Our Mediterranean cruise and shopping for gifts for Dani and Iris. The Starbucks barista calling us “Timtam.”  His love of Bentley. His pride in both his children. Seeing his face as he walked his daughter down the aisle.  How do you sum up a lifetime of friendship, of memories? It’s impossible. My heart is in pieces. I’m so very sorry and my heart goes out to his family.
