

Tom was born on September 8, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Tom was a proud Marine for many years and enjoyed recalling the many experiences he had during his time in the military. He was a lifetime supporter of the military and believed in acknowledging and showing his gratitude for those who served.
Tom was a licensed Journeyman Electrician for most of his life and was passionate about his career. He was an extremely hard worker who prided himself on providing for his family. He was very knowledgeable about his craft and was highly regarded by his employers and coworkers.
Tom had a great sense of humor and even when he was experiencing hardship, he enjoyed making those around him smile and laugh. He was always very proud of his children and took great pride in their accomplishments. He got a sparkle in his eye whenever he talked about them. He surrounded himself with photos of his family and happy memories. He was always highly interested in learning about science and had a particular fascination with space. He also loved the ocean and was an avid surfer in his youth.
Tom is survived by his children, Nicole Beth Ludwig, his son-in-law Brian Scott Ludwig Jr., Cira Susan Craighead, her significant other Austin Lee Bachman, and Cole Thomas Craighead, as well as his significant other Madison Belle Hughes. He is also survived by his sisters Cathy Ann Jacobs and Gloria Jean Lodge, as well as their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emitt Charles Craighead and Agatha “Agnes” Balchunas Craighead as well as by his brother, Charles Joseph Craighead.
The family is working to plan a celebration of life gathering for his family and friends on Saturday September 24th, 2022 in Reno, Nevada. Specific details of this event are being determined, please reach out to the family for additional information.
