She was born to Jenette and Arthur Betts in Keokuk, Iowa on April 17th, 1950.
Nancy “Nana” graduated Keokuk High in 1967 and later gave birth to two beautiful blue eyed babies in the early 70”s. She worked for Wholesome Bakery for 10+ years until she retired. The rest of her life she was a devoted christian and lived selflessly serving others.
Nancy's hobbies included playing Gin Rummy, (and winning) writing in her prayer journal, shopping, getting her hair done and watching true crime documentaries. She was always seen drinking diet coke and cuddling her dog “pookie”.
Nana is survived by her grandchildren: Brittany Ynacay-Nye, Angelica Medina, Alayna Ynacay-Nye, Justin Ynacay-Nye, Jenna Corrigan; Great grandchildren: Annalee Medina, James Ostin, and Ryker Newby.
Nana is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Jenette Betts; Brother, Arthur Betts; Daughters: Gina Nye, Deanna Camacho-Nye.
Nancy “Nana” Ann Gibson had a big heart and served selflessly.
When Nancy passed she was an organ donor, with some investigating our family learned she was successfully able to donate and save a life. She gave a stranger the opportunity to live longer.
Nana was also known to be a huge lover of animals and she enjoyed donating to the ASPCA monthly in the last few years of her life.
In remembrance and honor of her big heart and selfless love, please feel free to make a donation to the (ASPCA) Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
