A One-of-a-Kind Man
Larry was funny, loving, incredibly smart, stubborn in all the ways those who knew him will remember, and a true jack of all trades. There was not much he couldn't figure out or fix. He was hardworking, humble, selfless, and always seemed to have a way of making things happen.
He had a charming side and was quite the ladies' man, carrying a personality that was uniquely his own. He loved the western lifestyle and found joy in the freedom, adventure, and simple pleasures that came with it.
His love for animals was another special part of who he was. Dogs, horses, rabbits, and birds all held a place in his heart. Animals were never just animals to Larry; they were part of the life he loved.
A Life of Adventure
Larry had a passion for aviation and the freedom of the skies. Owning his own airplane was one of the many adventures that made his life special. Whether on the ground embracing his cowboy roots or up in the air pursuing his love of flying, Larry lived life on his own terms.
He proudly served his country for 34 years, first in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1975, followed by the Air National Guard from 1975 to 1989, where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. His years of military service reflected his dedication, commitment, and love of country.
A Loving Brother, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather
Above all, Larry was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who leaves behind family who will carry his memory forward.
He is survived by his son, Larry D. Lumadue; granddaughter, Emmah Lumadue; and great-granddaughter, Haili Ray. He is also survived by his brothers, Malcolm Lumadue and David Lumadue, and his sisters, Linda Young and Susan Kenska. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Janet Daley and Charlotte Archer.
A Legacy That Lives On
Larry was one of a kind. His quick wit, remarkable intelligence, stubborn spirit, adventurous heart, and ability to do just about anything will never be forgotten.
He leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind stories worth telling, lessons worth remembering, and a legacy of a life lived independently, wholeheartedly, and on his own terms.
Though the skies may be a little quieter without him, we can imagine Larry right where he always loved to be — with the open skies ahead, a little adventure waiting, and plenty of stories still to tell.
Our beloved troublemaker has found his home in heaven. Larry may your skies always be clear, your horses close by, and your wings carry you gently home.
We’ll miss you dearly and carry you in our hearts, always.
All who knew and loved Larry are welcome to join in remembering a life that was truly one of a kind.
