

Kathy Hart Marquez peacefully passed away at the age of 74 in the early hours of February 23, 2024. She was born on July 7, 1949, in Oklahoma City, and spent her formative years in the Midwest, and then graduating from Napa High School before relocating to Reno, Nevada in 1971.
For more than three decades, Kathy was a blackjack dealer, starting her career at the King of Clubs and concluding at the Grand Sierra Resort. Throughout her life, she found joy in sewing, cheering for the Nevada Basketball team, and solving puzzles.
Kathy shared 37 years of marriage with her husband, John R Marquez. She is survived by her siblings: Phyllis Shawcroft, Dale Hart, Anita Maddox, and Deanna Cobb. Her legacy also includes her five cherished children: Carrie Johns, Steven Johns, Cecilia Moffett, Matthew Marquez and Marilyn Butler. Additionally, Kathy leaves behind 10 adoring grandchildren: Curtis, Hunter, Mason, Hali, Finley, Alicia, Marisa, Madison, Isabella and Anthony, and one great-grandchild, Everleigh. She is preceded in death by her parents Leta Hart (2005) and Loren Hart (2016), her beloved husband John Marquez (2021) and her brother Darrell Hart (2014).
