Jay H Mcdowell

Jay H McDowell died Tuesday April 10, 2018, at St Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno. He was 87 Years of age. Born January 27, 1931, in Lincoln Nebraska, to Waldo and Kathaleen (Hanlin) McDowell, Jay was educated in the Nebraska schools through his high school years.

In 1950, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served 15 years, serving twice in Korea during 1951-1952 and 1953-1955. In 1952, He met and married Myrtle Louise Siebe, also a marine stationed at the same Marine base at Oceanside, California. The couple celebrated 65 years of marriage on November 5, 2017.

Jay attended the Northrop Institute of Technology, El Segundo, California, and worked in the aerospace industry from 1964 until his retirement in July, 1985.

Jay was preceded in death by his father, mother, and grandparents. He is survived by his wife Myrtle, daughter Tammy McConnell, one granddaughter and one great grandson.

In keeping with his wishes, no memorial services will be held. cremation was provide by Neptune Society with ashes buried at sea.
