Goree Keith Lawhorn

Goree K. Lawhorn June 15, 1945 - November 9, 2017 Goree “Keith” Lawhorn 72, passed away on November 9 with his family by his side. He was born June 15th, 1945 to Freely Lawhorn and Mary (Whorley) Lawhorn in Houston, TX. Known to his family and friends as “Keith” or “Ace”. Keith was an accomplished welder and worked in the field in his early years. Amongst his many hobbies, Keith was passionate about Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and his love for horse racing. He was an avid Miami Dolphin fan, and had an extensive collection of sports cards. He loved talking about sports with his children and grandsons. Keith is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Marcia C. Lawhorn of Reno, NV; his daughter Sonya (Lawhorn) Badie and son-in-law Douglas Badie of Tracy, CA; Son Gorree Keith Lawhorn Jr and daughter-in-law Veronica Lawhorn of New Mexico; Daughter Melissa Lawhorn of Reno, NV. Son Brian Keith Lawhorn and daughter-in-law Lisa Lawhorn of Reno, NV. Sister Florence and brother Richard Lawhorn of Houston, TX. Thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren with another due any day. A host of nieces, nephews, friends and his dog Razor. He is preceded in death by his parents Freely and Mary; his son Burton Keith Lawhorn of Reno, NV; great-granddaughter Alexis of Hayword, CA; sisters Mildred and Nelda of Texas. At Keith’s request no services will be held at this time. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
