George Bruce Reid

George Bruce Reid (Bruce) passed away on May 22, 2023 in the CLC Unit of the Veterans hospital in Reno, NV. Bruce was born in Quincy MA on May 4, 1937. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 yrs Lydia Susanna Reid and son Bruce Erik Reid 53 of Seattle, WA.

Bruce joined The United States Marine Corps in 1959 and retired from the Corps in 1975 as a Gunnery Sergeant. There after he worked for the Veterans Administration in Reno, NV until his retirement.

Bruce was an avid supporter and long time season ticket holder for UNR’s Wolf Pack both men and women’s sports.

His is survived by his sister Joyce Bean of Duxbury, MA. Nephews; Dana (Cheryl) Bean, Douglas Bean and Debra (Fred) Byrne, all from MA. Sisters & Brothers in-law: Josephine Dominguez, Dolores (Gary) Cardwell, Cristina MacDonald, John (Stella) Santiago, Frank Santiago. Nieces & Nephews: Daniela (Adam) Weiner, Damian (Kristin) Dominguez, Mark (Sofie) Estrada, Peter (Eden) Estrada, Jennifer Santiago, Amanda Santiago and Carla Okamura.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the UNR’s women’s basketball team.
