Francis Robert King

Born on September 5, 1946, in Rutland, Vermont, Bob was the son of the late Leu Pritchard King and Corrine Mary (Noe) King. On June 5, 1970, Bob married the love of his life, Agnes “Louise” King. Together they built a life of love, support, and devotion until her passing in 2016.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1987 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. His 20-year naval career took him across the country, stationed and living at NAS Norfolk in Virginia, as well as NAS Moffett and NAS Miramar in California, before retiring in Nevada. During his service, he earned a number of decorations including the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Expeditionary Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with Bronze Star.

Following his retirement from active duty, Bob carried a strong work ethic into civilian life. He held a number of jobs through the years to stay active and to foster his love of working alongside others. Bob was happiest working with his hands—often fixing things around the house, assembling intricate Lego sets, and cooking complex recipes. He loved unwinding with a good movie or sporting event, and rarely turned down a game of Yahtzee. Above all, Bob deeply valued his time surrounded by the warmth and companionship of his closest friends in Lovelock, Nevada.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (2016); his daughter, Christina King (2025); and his parents, Leu Pritchard King and Corrine Mary King.

He is survived by his son, Robert Paul King; his daughters-in-law; his three grandchildren; and many loving extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

A memorial service with full U.S. Navy Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.
