She was born in Loma Linda, CA on July 6, 1936. She was the youngest of 3 siblings.
Skip grew up in Storm Lake, IA and attended Storm Lake High School. She then attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO and graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. Skip lived in Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Michigan and then back to Denver, Colorado where she was a systems analyst with Mountain Bell until she retired.
Skip was an avid tennis player, but also loved to ski, cycle, mountain bike, scuba dive, hike, camp, and travel. She had lifelong friends that she had many adventures with. She was a strong, determined, intelligent and loving woman. She loved animals and took part in training and competing with her german shepard, Frisco, as a young adult. She worked hard and played hard. She was a great friend and mother to her 2 children. Family vacation memories included countless ski trips to her brother's condo in Jackson Hole and his lake house in Connecticut as well as trips to her parents in Nuevo, CA and sister in Cerritos, CA.
Dementia took her mind and eventually her body. She is and will continue to be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Stock and Ruth Wine; brother, Walter A. Stock; sister, Lauretta LaVonne Stock; and son, Scott H. Beck.
She is survived by her son, Grant Beck; daughter, Robyn Mitchell; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
