Dave was born July 2nd, 1926 to Alfred Earnest Hall and Bertha (Tuck) Hall in Vancouver B.C. Canada, where he was also raised.
Dave, Phyllis and his family of 3 children moved to Reno in 1965 to further his career. He enjoyed working on large-scale construction projects for Johnson Construction and Mackenzie Construction companies before becoming Director of Property Management at Circus Circus Enterprises. The building of the Excalibur hotel in Las Vegas, the largest hotel in the world at the time (1990), was his crowning achievement. He was appointed by Governor Bryan to the Board of Fire Safety for the state of Nevada serving from 1985-1987. Dave received many accolades in his long and distinguished career. He retired in 1991.
In his retirement, he and his wife, Phyllis, travelled the world, spent time with his family and friends in the US as well as Canada and Alaska. He was a member and trustee of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, involved in the development of Noah's Ark Child Care Center as well as other capital projects. He was a member of the Carpenter's Retiree Club #971 in Reno.
Dave was a dignified, kind and gentle man who greeted all with a genuine smile and a heartfelt handshake. He was admired for his ability to captivate those around him with great stories of his life. He loved a political debate and kept up on the news until the end. He left a lasting impression on all who met him, lived by example and bettered the world for it.
He will be greatly missed by his children, David Hall (Ruth) of Vancouver, WA, Steven Hall of Reno, NV, Leslie MacInnes (Scott) of Issaquah, WA; grandchildren Austin, Sarah, Rachel, Margot, Myles, and Michael; and great-granddaughter, Nola, along with many nieces and nephews in the US and Canada.
