Born in San Francisco, California, Dave spent most of his life in the Bay Area before moving to Northern Nevada after retiring from a dedicated 35-year career as a mechanic with BART.
Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather "Gpa", son and friend. He shared 35 loving years of marriage with his soulmate, Olga, and together they raised four children. Family was the center of Dave's life and he loved them wholeheartedly. He was known for his generous spirit and willingness to help anyone in need, never hesitating to lend a hand.
In his younger years, Dave played baseball and had a passion for cars, especially his 1970 Chevelle, which he enjoyed racing and working on to make it faster. He loved being involved with his children's sports. He coached little league baseball, the football games and never missed a practice or game. He also took great pride in keeping his lawn manicured. Neighbors would ask if the grass was real.
Dave loved to travel. His last memorable vacation was a cruise to the Bahamas with Olga and the Vesely family. Some of his favorite memories were fishing trips to Shasta with his dad and BART friends and bowling for many years in the BART league alongside family and coworkers. He treasured camping trips with his lifelong friends, Olga and children. He also enjoyed golfing, proudly claiming the 19th hole as his favorite.
At home, Dave loved Olga’s cooking and affectionately called her “Chef”. Above all else, he was a loyal San Francisco 49ers fan. In Dave’s house, football season never truly ended.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Olga; daughter Priscilla; sons Nick (Lauren), Roy, and Dave (Andrea); his cherished grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A church Service will be held on June 27, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, 5650 Vista Blvd., Sparks, Nevada 89436. A Celebration of life will follow at Lazy 5 Reginal Park, 7100 Pyramid Way, Sparks, NV 89436.
Dave’s kindness, humor, loyalty and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
