Thomas "Tommy" Ambrose Ryan

Thomas Ambrose Ryan, “Tommy”, of Fuquay-Varina, NC passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the age of 78. He was born on February 9, 1946, in Woodside, Queens, NY where he grew up with his parents, Joe and Emily, and his three siblings, Joe, Ed and Kathy.

He cherished his close relationship with his siblings and their extended families, enjoyed watching golf and football, was a proud Irishman and an active member of the Raleigh AOH, and he loved taking his beloved dog to the park every day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Emily Ryan.

He is survived by his wife, Tari Ryan, and children Michelle Ryan, Michael Ryan and Megan Navarro, son-in-law, Raul Navarro, beloved grandchildren, Luci and Noelle Navarro, and his dog, Kane.

Tom had a twinkle in his blue eyes and was a charming and natural storyteller. He had a huge heart, was dedicated to his family and friends, regularly donated to causes he cared about, loved a good Manhattan and had a protector and best friend in Kane. He will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the UNC Cancer Hospital staff and the Transitions Lifecare hospice team for the care and compassion they showed Tom in his final days, as well as our loving family for all of their support.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Rite of Committal at Saint Bernadette Catholic Parish of Fuquay Varina on Friday, October 18th at 10:00am. The ceremony and visitation with the family will be in the garden of the church located at 1005 Wilbon Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

Please join us for a celebration of Tom’s life that Friday afternoon at 12:00pm at the Hickory Tavern, 401 Village Walk Drive Unit A, Holly Springs, NC 27540, on the outdoor patio of the restaurant. A light lunch will be provided.
