Sal was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 16, 1954 to Barney and Ann Sanfratello. Sal is survived by his two daughters, Lauren DeGarmo (Paul DeGarmo) and Natalie Sanfratello, his granddaughter, Kaitlyn DeGarmo, and his two sisters, Elisa Baudanza and Regina Sanfratello.
Sal had a long career at the United States Postal Service as a Systems Engineer. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and attending NC State Football Games. He was an avid sports fan and a great athlete. Sal coached many teams on which his daughters played growing up, and he enjoyed sharing his love of sports with them. More than anything, he loved spending time with his girls, and he was the proudest Papa to Kaitlyn.
Sal had a quick-witted sense of humor and loved to make those around him laugh (even if that was through a jump scare). Throughout the illness, he always stayed positive and cracked jokes at any opportunity.
We will hold a celebration of his life in the coming months (details forthcoming).
