"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8"
Roger Kenneth Durham, age 77, passed at his home peacefully July 7th, 2026. He was the son of the late Ralph and Beulah Durham. Roger enjoyed all sports, but his favorites were NASCAR and spending time on the golf course with his brother, Doug, and his dear friend, Chuck. He was also a proud member of the Millersburg, MI F.O.E. #4482.
Roger was a man of unwavering faith, genuine kindness, and contagious joy. A devoted Christian, he lived his life as a testament to his love for God. His gentle spirit, encouraging words, and ever-present smile brought light and comfort to everyone he met. He deeply loved his community and found great joy in serving others.
Roger dedicated many years of his career to Holsum Bread Company and Krispy Kreme. One of his favorite roles was serving treats and bread products to participants at Rockingham Motor Speedway. His enthusiasm and dedication even led to him receiving approval to have the first—and only—commercial float in the Veterans Day Parade in Jacksonville, Florida. Whether at community events, weddings, birthdays, or concerts, Roger delighted in handing out Krispy Kreme two-pack boxes of doughnuts, sharing not only a sweet treat but also his generous heart.
Roger's greatest joy was found in worshiping and singing praises to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He faithfully supported many Southern Gospel artists, and his presence became familiar to countless performers and fellow attendees. Roger, Rosemary, and the wonderful ladies he proudly chauffeured to gospel singings could almost always be found together on the second row.
While our family and friends grieve Roger's passing, we find peace and comfort in knowing he is with his Savior. We can imagine him joining the heavenly choir, singing praises to the Lord he loved so dearly. His legacy of faith, kindness, generosity, and joyful service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.And as Roger would want us to remember him—with a smile and a little enthusiasm—one last thing: "Woop Woop!"
