Richard Earl Palmer Jr.

Richard Earl Palmer, Jr, age 52, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, of Clayton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2023. A man of committed faith, Richard will be remembered for his love of people, passion for life, and service to friends, family, and his church.

Richard Palmer was born on June 18, 1971 to Gloria and Richard Palmer, Sr. in Jackson, MS. Richard graduated Stone Mountain High School in 1989, and attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, before committing his career energy to a life in sales. This career path allowed him to do most what he did best, make personal connections with people.

Richard and his wife, Stephanie, met as teenagers in their church youth group. Although they were good friends, the two did not date until they reconnected as adults. The couple married on July 7, 2007, and lived and worked in greater Raleigh for their entire marriage.

Richard is survived by his wife, Stephanie of Clayton, NC; his mother, Gloria Palmer of Atlanta, GA; father, Richard Palmer and his wife, Jo Anne; brother, Sean Palmer and his wife, Rochelle, and their daughters, Malia and Kate; sister, Tanesha Richelle Palmer; mother-in-law, Diane Green; brother-in-law, Tim Green and his wife, Karen, and their children, Clarissa and her husband, Johan Deal, Pierce Green and his wife, Tabitha, and their son, James, and Davis Green and his wife, Byanka, and their son, Andrew Green; along with hundreds of friends around the world.

Celebration of Life of Richard Palmer will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at North Raleigh Christian Academy, 7300 Perry Creek Road, Raleigh, NC 27616.
