Margaret Brantley Joyner, beloved mother, wife, and friend, passed into the presence of Jesus on October 30, 2026 at the age of 79. She passed from this life into the next, enveloped in the love of her children, grandchildren, and husband, but especially the love of God. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unhurried presence, and the gift of making others feel at ease in her presence.
Margaret Eva Brantley was born on January 20, 1947, and was raised as the oldest child of Margaret Jeffreys Brantley and Edwin Hassel Brantley. “Peg” married Dennis Wayne Joyner, and they raised three boys in Spring Hope, NC. Peg spent most of her days loving children, reading books, crafting, watching classic movies, and immersing herself in nature. She was both wild and serene; playful but also settled. Walking with Jesus was the most magical part of a life story filled with dynamic chapters.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Wayne Joyner; her children and their spouses, Merl Wayne Joyner and Jennifer Johnson Joyner, Matthew Brantley Joyner and Jerri-Anne Hudson Joyner, Noah Joseph Joyner and Stephanie Shea Joyner; as well as her 15 cherished grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom could bring an instant and memorably bright “Nana Peg” smile to her face, followed by a gentle hug. She is also survived by her brothers, Edwin Hassel Brantley II and Richard Jeffreys Brantley. She will be missed but she is finally dancing forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on November 14, 2026 at North Wake Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina, at 10 am.
