Lindsay Aikman Catherman, 44, of Apex, NC passed away peacefully in her home on July 20, 2024 after a more than two-year struggle with cancer. She was a beautiful artist, professional photographer, world traveler, fine food seeker, and (in her own words) pathetic animal lover. She was a perfect partner to her husband and a wonderful role-model as a stepmom to three children.
Lindsay was born in Seymour, IN on November 2, 1979 but moved to Huntington, NY when she was six with her mother. She attended NYU and lived in and around the city for much of her early adult life. In 2013, she moved to Raleigh, NC and quickly met her now husband Ryan (whom she nicknamed Charlie) and three stepchildren. In her 11 years in the Raleigh area, she started her own successful photography business touching the lives of many families and professionals. Her work will be centerpieces of many homes for decades. Her work will be maintained as a legacy to her on her site: https://www.lindsayaikmanphoto.com/.
Besides her husband Ryan Catherman and stepchildren Daphne, Samuel, and Maxwell, she is survived by Rebecca Aikman (mother), James and Elizabeth Farrell (father and stepmother), Aidan and Andrea Farrell (brother and sister-in-law), Ryan Farrell (brother), Ashley Phelps (cousin), and finally her precious dogs Clyde and Mr Pickles.
Celebration of life details will be shared with close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we suggest making a donation in Lindsay’s name if that is your desire. Lindsay loved animals, so a donation to Carolina Border Collie Rescue or to any cancer research toward early screening and prevention would be appropriate.
