William E. Kauffman, 83, of North Palm Beach, FL, died peacefully in his home of 50 years on February 15, 2019, surrounded by family. William (Bill) was born on January 7, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA, to William E. Kauffman, Sr. and Elsie M. Kauffman. Bill graduated from Upper Darby High School and Penn State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 – 1960 and was stationed in Japan during that time.
Bill worked in Electronic Component Design and designed parts for early pacemakers. Little did he know, he would later reap the benefits when doctors told him he needed one. Bill holds two U.S. patents. His passions included Ham Radio (call sign W4SQC), experimenting with solar energy panels, his dog, island music, and most importantly, his family and friends.
Bill is predeceased by his parents and his sister Betty. He is loved and will be missed by his beloved wife of 60 years, Catherine Kauffman; sisters Elsie, Carolyn, and Dorothy; daughter Lori (Don); grandchildren Will (Jamie), Adam (Kristen), Erica (Justin), and James (Lisa); great-grandchildren Ben, Owen, and Declan; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach, Florida 33408.
