William (Bill) T. Grubb, 94, of Tamarac, Florida, died January 4, 2024. Bill was born July 22, 1929 in Buffalo, NY to the late William T. (Sr.) and Mary (Szollosy) Grubb. He was married to the late Jane A. (Doherty) Grubb, his beloved wife of 67 years.
Bill is survived by his children William Gregory (Marlene) Grubb of Sunrise, FL and Patricia Jane Doherty of Toledo, OH; grandchildren Lauren (Justin) Cristiano and William Ian Grubb; two great-grandsons; brother Edward (Ann) Robertson of Kenmore, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Robert E. (Carol) Grubb. Memories of Bill’s life will be cherished by his family.
Bill served in the US Air Force 1946-1949 and was assigned to the First Air-Sea Rescue Squadron in the Panama Canal region. After his marriage to Jane in 1952, Bill was employed by Bell Aircraft in Wheatfield, NY and retired from Bell Aerospace in 1990. He established many life-long friendships while at Bell and enjoyed attending annual Bell reunions long after his retirement.
Bill travelled throughout the US during his career and settled in sunny Florida in retirement. He was an Elks member since 1964 and later of the Deep Creek Elks Lodge where he served as Treasurer 1991- 2004. Bill enjoyed many interests throughout his life including woodworking, cooking, fishing, swimming, card games and cheering for his hometown Buffalo Bills. He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends and lending a helping hand to those he loved. Inurnment shall take place at South Florida National Cemetery.
