Valentin Jakolenko, 82, of Pompano Beach and formerly of Medford, MA, died March 19, 2017, in Boca Raton, FL . He was born in the Ukraine and came to the US at the age of 16, later enlisting in the US Air Force. He was a member of the Orthodox Cathedral of Christ the Saviour Church, the J. Dewey Hawkins Masonic Lodge #331, Scottish Rite-Lake Worth, and Mahi Temple-Miami. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Enis “Dolly” (nee Freda) Jakolenko; sister, Nina Fortune of Pompano Beach, and brother, Nikolaus Solotowski of Dothan, AL; niece, Nadia Grady; nephew, Steven Fortune; 1 Great Niece; 4 Great Nephews; 1 Great-Great Niece; and 1 Great-Great Nephew. Memorial Service will be Sunday, March 26, 2017, at 12:30 PM at the Orthodox Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, 16601 NW 77 Court, Miami Lakes, FL 33016, with a luncheon immediately following in the Church Hall.
