He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Donna Regan; two sons, David Regan and Brian Regan; and his wife, Sarah Regan; his grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, and Jacob; and great-grandchildren. He connected warmly with numerous friends, associates, and caregivers who became like family throughout the rich tapestry of his life.
He was born in Brighton, MA, in 1939 to Anna Fahey and Thomas J . Regan. Attended St Sebastian's Country Day School on a working scholarship. I enrolled in ROTR while pursuing a BS in Economics at Boston College. Served in Fort Jackson, SC, becoming a Captain in the Army Infantry, and then joined the active reserves. He moved to Newton, MA, and Falmouth, MA, to raise his two young sons, David and Brian, as a single dad. He was one of the first fathers in Massachusetts to fight for full custody of his children and succeeded in winning shared custody.
Thomas had a successful 30-year career at Metropolitan Life Insurance, becoming Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Group Insurance Division. He championed women and sought to elevate, mentor, and promote them in his organization. Tom was instrumental in developing Long-Term Care Insurance, inviting Snoopy as the Metropolitan mascot, and flying the Met Blimp.
He helped his sons establish their businesses and was critical in helping his beloved wife run Tower Consultants, Ltd., an Executive search firm.
He contributed to numerous not-for-profits, military and police organizations, the arts, and sailing clubs and helped many along the way to thrive in their professional careers.
As it was with Tom, he stubbornly and bravely battled Parkinson’s Disease for 8 years. He passed peacefully in hospice, surrounded by friends and family.
Tom will receive a private military send-off at the national cemetery on Cape Cod and be roasted and toasted in Cape Cod, MA, and Fort Pierce, FL, as we celebrate a well-lived life. In his honor, donations can be made to the list of organizations near and dear to Tom’s heart.
Thank you all for your love and laughter, and let the good times roll.
