Shirley A Jenkins

There will be a Mass held at St Frances Xavier Catholic Church, 928 E. Howard St., Live Oak, FL 32064 on January 5, at 12:30 p.m. With burial services immediately following at the City of Live Oak Cemetery, 110 Winderweedle St. NW, Live Oak, FL 32064. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Daniels funeral home.

Shirley was born on February 10, 1934 in Sidney, Ohio to Herbert A. and Marietta H. (Rousseau) Smith. She was raised in Ohio, and later in Dade City, Florida. She moved to Margate, Florida in 1961 where she was a resident at the same location for 57 years.

Shirley married John R. Jenkins on July 18, 1953, in Biloxi, Mississippi, she divorced in 1974.

Shirley worked as a relay assembler for ABB for 33 years. She enjoyed painting and crafting, but her favorite passion was tending to her beautiful garden. She would always joke “I’m most happiest just being outside pulling weeds”.

Shirley is survived by two sons Michael Jenkins of Boca Raton, FL and Patrick Jenkins of West Palm Beach, FL. Three grandchildren, Michael Jr, Matthew and Lacey Jenkins. Three brothers, Jerry Smith of Brooksville, FL, Thomas Smith of Jacksonville, FL, and Michael Smith of Tallahassee, FL. Her sister Nancy Smith of Live Oak, FL preceded her in death.
