February 27, 1940 – October 11, 2026
Rosemarie Buhl, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and woman of deep faith and compassion, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on February 27, 1940, in the Bronx, New York, to Hans and Kathleen Dannegger, Rosemarie’s life would come to be defined by her devotion to those she loved, her generosity toward others, and her willingness to lend a helping hand.
She graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in 1958 and completed a program in infant care at New York Foundling Hospital in 1959, becoming a certified baby care technician. Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, Paul Buhl, beginning a lifelong partnership centered on love, family, and faith.
Together, Rosemarie and Paul raised three children, Donna, Kathleen, and Neil. Their home was always a welcoming place, not only for their own children but also for others who needed love, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. They opened their home to a niece while she attended college and fostered young children in need of a loving home. Those they welcomed became an enduring part of their lives, forming bonds of affection and belonging that extended well beyond their time together under one roof.
Rosemarie’s nurturing spirit extended well beyond her immediate family. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Whether opening her home to others, offering encouragement, or simply lending a listening ear, she lived a life marked by kindness and compassion.
Rosemarie later worked as a receptionist at IDS American Express in White Plains, New York. In 1994, she and Paul began spending winters in Jupiter, Florida, before making Jupiter their permanent home in 2006.
A woman of enduring faith, Rosemarie was active in her church until the COVID-19 pandemic. She generously volunteered with Birthline and First Care Ministries in both New York and Florida, offering support and encouragement to women and families in need. She also helped immigrant mothers learn basic English, reflecting her desire to make others feel welcomed and supported in their new surroundings.
Above all, Rosemarie treasured her family. She took immense pride and joy in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow, celebrating their accomplishments and sharing in their lives.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Buhl.
She is survived by her three children, Donna, Kathleen, and Neil; her daughter-in-law, Mary Buhl, wife of Neil; her brother, Hans Dannegger; her sister, Pauline Grimpel; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply, the lives she touched, and the countless acts of kindness that marked her 86 years. She will be remembered for her generous heart, steadfast faith, welcoming home, and the unconditional love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.
Rosemarie’s life was a testament to the belief that love is expressed through action, that a welcoming heart can create lifelong bonds, and that the greatest legacy we leave is the difference we make in the lives of others.
