Robert H Riley (Bob) of Boynton Beach, FL passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 102. He was born on January 27, 1923 in Boston, MA. He grew up in Milton, MA. He met his wife, Suzanne in Quincy, MA before joining the US Navy to serve in World War II. He then went back to active duty to serve in Korea.
Bob and Sue raised their two daughters, Judith and Carol, in Quincy, MA where he worked as a precision machinist and she worked as an editor at the Patriot Ledger. They became involved in both square and round dancing. Once the daughters were grown, they moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where Bob worked for the US Postal Service. They later moved to Boynton Beach, FL.
They continued to pursue their love of dancing becoming active members of the URDC, Universal Round Dance Council and traveled and danced with friends from all over the country and world. Bob could make or fix almost anything and was a talented intarsia wood worker with many pieces given as gifts to family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by Suzanne who passed in March of 2011 and his daughter, Judith, who passed in August of 2024. He is survived by his daughter, Carol, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at the South Florida VA National Cemetery where he will join Suzanne. More details to follow.
